about

BlueHouse is a Canadian digital literary journal and press, focussing on the construction of the written self.

We publish poetry, creative non-fiction, experimental prose and hybrid forms. We like the edges of things; where visual art meets poetry, where poetry meets prose, where prose meets essay.

BlueHouse is an entirely free, not-for-profit digital space, 100 % volunteer run and edited.

Please note that because BlueHouse is a completely free digital space. We are currently unable to pay contributors for their work. We understand that it is never ideal to give away your work for free, and we encourage all writers to seek paid opportunities where they can. Our goal is to create a safe, inclusive and fully accessible space for writers of all levels of experience to share their work and to gain publication credits. We rely on the generosity of our contributors and of our editors to continue to make our existence possible, and we thank you!
